Almost 40 volunteers and members of the Friends of Perry Hall Mansion came out to participate in the April 19th, 2008 clean-up of the exterior and grounds of this historic home. Work to be done included: grass and tree trimming, removal of leaves/brush, removal of any stray trash, and general clean-up.

Representatives from the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks (who removed all of the debris) report that over 5,500 pounds (2 1/2 tons) of brush and yard waste were removed by this group of dedicated volunteers.

Friends of Perry Hall Mansion Jeffrey Smith commented, "I am so proud of the hard work of these volunteers in helping to clean up nearly 40 years of general neglect of the grounds maintenance ... we came a long way in just one day!"
